Distilling Light: notes on the powers of the Universe

“The secret of life is to share the creative madness of God—if we had never
experienced this madness we can be said to have never lived. For it is the
direct expression of having regained that reverence for all living things which
is the only real foundation for human society.” —Cecil Collins

Dr. Brian Swimme and Mary Evelyn Tucker lead all-day workshops at The Whidbey Institute October 15 and 20, 2007. The themes were hope and discussion of the current Western or maladaptive worldviews compared with the potentiality of deeper worldviews that reflect a matured conscciousness and partnership with the powers of the Universe. He emphasized our hope is through the co- creation of mutually enhancing relationships.

Brian: “Our task is to reinvent the major forms of human presence, in conscious self awareness of our partnership with the cosmic impulse....Our quest here is understanding the cosmological unconscious...and expanding

our identity to embrace larger Earth community while building our individual capacity to be souces of generativity.”

The underlying assumption in maladaptive values such as: ‘growth is good’, ‘money will lead to fulfillment’, inequity and injustice, militarism and others is that we are separate. I sense there is a large energetic drain away from interconnection with the Gaiasphere, partly because so many are holding the stress/loss of this disconnection. It is undigestible. It is unsustainable. We are not receiving nourishment of full intimacy with Earth and life.

I am available for individual and group facilitation/coaching, and to lead ritual. I offer in-depth inquiry into reverential ecology, the ten powers of the universe and emerging spiritual capacities to organizations and small groups.
